Grass Fed Beef - Chuck???
I was reading that grass-fed cattle is actually fairly good for you in that it contains a good amount of omega-3 oils that grain-fed cattle does not have.
According to the article, cows are meant to eat and digest grass. However, most of the beef we eat has been fed corn and other filler. As a result, the cows are unhealthy, develop stomach problems, and usually require high dosages of antibiotics to remain healthy.
I'm not sure if I've ever tasted grass fed beef so I'm looking for a good, reliable source for grass fed beef. Chuck?

Few Years back at SEMA we went to Steak Craft or is it Craft Steak at the MGM and had a grass fed steak and it was amazing very tender, have never seen it again anywhere else but I will always remeber it was good.

you had grass-fed beef at French Laundry
a lot of Argentian beef is grass-fed too. i think most Whole Foods stuff is grass-fed and maybe finished with grain at the very end to fatten them up.
these days, except for the mystery meat in tacos, thai, and indian food, i don't eat "industrial" meat. everything is free range (animals running around in a more natural environment eating natural food) - eggs, chicken, beef, etc. there's no question it's healthier for you (no chemicals, etc.) in most cases, it tastes better (there's an old farmer adage: happy animals equal tastier animals.)

You may want to select your supplier of grass fed beef carefully. the stuff at whole foods taste like ass.
The stuff at certain high end rests and shops are great. I thought Kraft was Kobe beef, which I guess would be a form of grass fed.

Grass fed beef IMHO isn't that great. It has less fat, and a higher water content. As a result, it tastes like "water downed beef." Lot's of juice, and not much flavor. However, this is just my personal opinion.

I don't know about California, but here in NYC we have a bunch of Farmer's Markets, one of which is right up the street from me in Union Square, and all the meat merchants there sell Organic Grass Fed Beef.
Perhaps you should check out your local farmers market.

if your beef doesn't taste like beef, one lever is dry-aging it longer - that's why a good butcher is invaluable.
