Homemade BBQ Pork Shoulder
A little something for my L4P family

Total Cook Time: 6 hours @ 200F
Ingredients: Pork Shoulder 10lb, Fresh Ground Pepper, Sea Salt, and Apple Wood
Tools: A Smoker, Kingsford 10lb charcoal

1) Putting on fresh ground pepper & seal salt.

2) Setting up the smoker. Add enough charcoal to last 6 hrs, light them and let it sit for about 30 mins.

3) add a bowl of water directly below the pork and then set the pork on top

4) Close the lid and wait...

5) 2 hours later...add a few blocks of apple wood...and shut off some vents by closing a few of them half way...then wait again

6) 2 more hours later...add a few more blocks of apple wood...then wait again

7) Finally after 6 hours of waiting...Its time to take the meat out.

8) Let it sit for about 20 mins to cool off

9) Time to serve

* Its really simple and easy
especially when you have a party of 5-8 *
That is all and sorry for the crappy iPhone pics

It's moments like these that I thank the Lord I'm not a vegetarian, and will never have a desire to be.
When I'm not here, I'm slinging IT infrastructure or gone golfing

i hate living in chicago and not being able to smoke during winter.....nothing better than a nice cut of meat slowly cooking for 6-24 hours...the anticipation and hope that it turns out fantastic is overwhelming. chopped/pulled shoulder smoked with some apple than mixed with a light sauce is the bomb
