My weekend spent in the kitchen (pics)
Decided i would treat the mrs to a nice home cooked meal. Spent nearly 7hrs in the kitchen but the results were fantastic (even if i do say so myself)
Starter - King Scallops with a pea puree, pea shoots and a smoked bacon veloute. very fresh and amazing taste. the veloute didnt foam up at all so was more of a sauce

Main - Braised ox cheeks, mash potatoe, chantenay carrots, sugar snaps and a port and red wine reduction

Dessert - Apple Tarte Tatin

Then this morning for breakfast went for an American theme.. PANCAKES !! with smoked bacon and eggs with LOTS of maple syrup

Had to go for a few mile walk after all that.Phantom Black Vauxhall VXR8

Nice surprise for the Mrs.! I have never seen eggs on pancakes, not to say it doesn't happen, but it's either eggs or pancakes for me, not both at the same time! I do miss the full English breakfast!

Niiiice!
I'm the one who cooks usually (shes the baker) and I'll be damned if I spend 7 hours in the kitchen lol.
I did spend 4hrs today, but that was slow cooking ribs in the oven (since it was pouring rain all day.)

That looks delicious, if you want to make the foam. In a cylindral container add about 2 cups of the sauce, 1tbsp of Soy lethican which you can find at most stores. Make sure the sauce is warm tilt slight maybe 35degrees with hand blender mix together and slowly bring to the top and add air to the mix it should foam up. Take note when making foams its always best to use a milk base it holds better under heat.
