C7: The Future of the Corvette
A big question lately is: Where is the Corvette going?
Sales have slumped in the past year, and GM intends to take aim at a younger target market. Does this mean we will see a price drop for the base model?
Also, what do you expect it to look like?

It will never look anywhere close to this. This pic is simply a C6Z "photosmushed" into the dimentions of a Camaro. Not even close.

No one ever likes the next generation Vette. When the C5's came out everyone freaked that it didn't look "Vette" enough. Then the C6's came out and everyone hated the fact it didn't have pop up headlights. Now the C7's are going to have better interiors, more power with less fuel consumption, and compete with cars twice as expensive, and people are freaking again.

GM suits have very little control on what happens with corvette's, from what i understand they're run like they are their own company.
i would think a price drop in both the z06 and the base will be likely, did you know a fully opted zo6 can cost 98k? they may get smaller engine's with only slightly more power.- Dave
most of what i say is a joke, unless it's serious

I have been in meetings with engineer's bosses. You wouldn't believe the things these guys dream up. Most of them have NO automotive experience. They think they know what the company wants. Then the engineers come in and politely tell them how severely wrong they are . 2 meeting I was in were for the Chevy Truck platform about 12 years ago. One suit and tie thought about putting a turbo 4 cylinder in a full size pick up, because his neighbor had did one in his back yard. He was shot down 7 ways from Sunday, ( reliability, torque, assembly problems, reliability issues). This is how GM use to run . Over my 7 years there I had seen stuff that would make Corvette owners jump ship and buy a Mustang or something else.
