what's a high milage viper?
i've been looking for a new(to me) car. i thought something that could be worth some money in the future would be cool. i narrowed it down to 3 choices, a porsche 964 rs america, a porsche 993 carrera, and a viper rt/10.
searching through ebay they sell for around the same amount(28-38k), but the vipers only have 20-30k on em, is that considered high milage for a 92-96?- Dave

I would say that is on the high side of average. Plenty of vipers with higher mileage!

30K + is high miles for a viper (because not many are daily driven)
Mine had 33k when I sold it and even though it was mint, that number made it VERY hard to get rid ofI build dream cars.

I'd say 40K plus would start to get high, 30k on a 12 year old car like mine is 2500 miles per year, not exactly daily driven statistics.

It is considered high mileage, but that doesn't mean that it actually is. It will run like any other car so miles isn't really something to be scared of. Hell, some Viper owners consider 20k miles on a mid 90's car "high mileage".

and do you just want an RT-10 because you can get a nice GTS for the lower part of the price range you posted.

^whats a money pit?
no i want the rt/10 because it's more raw, it's got real sidepipes(for the early yrs), it's not really powerful at 400hp, but w/o the driving aids it'll feel like more.
don't get me wrong i love the gts as a whole and would love an 99-01 ACR, i'd just prefer for right now the rt.- Dave

I would absolutely recommend buying a "high mileage" Viper given that they are so undervalued in the market. The prices don't represent reality (i.e. the car is about to explode) just market perception. That says to me...buy buy buy.
