Default Can a viper be driven safely?

I hope this isnt a repost but i see time after time how dangerous vipers are and how easily they can get away from you.

My question is simply this, Can a viper gts be driven day to day safely?
And can it be driven without pushing it to its limit untill you know its complete power?

    Are you serious?

Assuming you are, yes. You just need to let the tires warm up before you put your foot down. I've owned almost everything out there and I loved my Viper. Drove it on track and on the street a lot; one of the funnest cars I have ever owned. Can you kill yourself, absolutely, but you can do that with any car.

You just have to respect the car. If you don't drive it like a jackass then you'll have no issues driving it on a day to day basis.

It always depend of the driver more then anything else. The car will respond to your input. I would compare this to a computer, garbage in = garbage out. It is that simple. Enjoy the ride and never forget that we and the cars we drive all have some limits we need to respect.
Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.

I have over 80,000 seat miles in vipers. everything from rt10, several gts and srt's. gen1 and 2 cars are the most dangerous as they lack abs. upgrade the brakes and they are great. I have always said if you can drive a viper well you can drive anything.

You don't need to upgrade the brakes, The brakes and stopping distance with untouchable in its day. You need to know how to brake.

If you don't know what you are doing, don't by one (unless you plan on just rolling around town) They are an amazing car for a skilled driver, but get a bad rep because of the weekend superheros who buy them, and shouldn't be driving anything with more then 300hp. I drove my viper HARD and never wrecked it. I had a few close moments because of sandy corners in the road etc, but if you know what you are doing, you can hold it. Its an extremely rewarding car to drive, because it doesn't drive itself like corvettes etc do.

If you don't drive like an idiot, yes.

I wouldn't quite say untouchable...the Viper was always hounded for it's braking.

    60-0 at 129ft is appalling.

The 01/02's were much better however.

I disagree, the front and rear on a Gen II lock up quickly. I have always sent my rears out to be upgraded. Best bang for the buck on a non abs vipe
