Watch the R1's tach at 0:26. As for a Vette powered Volvo wagon — wonderful idea. Some folks have the mechanical ability to transplant powerful power plants in mundane bodies…that's what's called a sleeper/Q ship. You expect to be walked down by a Gallardo but not a grocery getter.

I think that would have been a little more fair had the R1 started in 2nd instead of trying to pull from the bottoms revs in 3rd, for the beginning of the race anyway. That thing had some serious power though.
Never put up with something high maintenance, unless it's high performance.
