who here daily drives their vette?
Hey everyone I am looking into getting myself into a c6 possibly. I own a couple of cars and im thinking about consolidating into 1 fun car to drive every day. Does anyone here daily drive their vettes? any experiences or insight you would like to share? So far I have been hearing nothing but great things about these cars so naturally I am pretty excited.

When I had mine, I daily drove it for roughly 2 years. Great, fun car and the ride was never harsh. I had an 08 coupe without the z51 package and 6spd manual. I would check insurance costs though if you have anything on your driving record and/or are young... Stay away from 05s if possible, 08 and up are the best to get since LS3 and extended drivetrain warranty.

thank you for your feedback! I checked my insurance today and surprisingly it's cheaper than my hummer! I found a very good deal on an 05 c6, and I feel like it's plenty of what i need to just enjoy my commute every day!

I commute with mine roughly 3-4 times a week and it's great, although I've only had it for the summer so far. I drive my commuter car 1-2x a week still just to keep it driven regularly, but I'll most likely begin to drive it more often as the weather turns cold.
The Vette is great for commuting in though, love having a fun car after a long day of work. Mine is pretty heavily modded (heads/cam/full exhaust/gears/etc), but I still get about 19 mpg combined hwy/city driving. It's a big, old school style V8, so they're pretty reliable.

Again, I would caution you on getting an 05... know to have many electrical gremlins. Check out TexasDirectAuto.com, I got my vette from them and was some of the lowest prices when I was pricing- easy to deal with everything was pretty much spot on. They keep their supply fresh and are frequently selling/acquiring new vehicles.

If you're also in the DMV area, you probably deal with our regular traffic too. I found that the clutch is actually rather forgiving in these cars too, it's not too heavy or much different from a regular car for driving in a fair amount of traffic.
I think in '08 when the LS3 was added to the base Vette, there were a number of interior upgrades as well. And then again in like 2011, they added the 4LT option that featured a fair number of interior upgrades as well.
There's a huge FAQ post on the Corvette Forum with details on each model year:

53k miles (and counting) in the last three years for me. I'm in Michigan, and I drive it until I see snowflakes. Mine is a c5, but they are, for all intents and purposes, mechanically the same thing. If you want a c6, I would strongly recommend a base model 2008 or newer.
