anybody build thier own house here?
ok, so i found the perfect house, but it's not in the neighborhood I want to be in.
Then i found the pefect location, where I can purchase the land and build it myself.
I do not have any experience dong such.
Are there companies that can build the house for me and i can pay them? is there such service exist?
If u know of any, please advise.

Yes, there are. This is what I do for a living. I highly suggest you hire a professional company to handle this for you. There's a ton of stuff to know.

No direct experience from me, so I can't give any personal accounts, but a lot of people on the City-Data forums for Northern Virginia recommend a company called ANV Group.
ANVGroup Custom Homes - New Homes in Virginia - Custom Home Builders
I've browsed their site and they seem to offer a lot of standard features that are upgrades from other builders. I'm planning to look into them whenever I get around to building a custom home in a few years. Again, no personal experience, but I read enough info on them that they're worth checking out, and hopefully there are no rules broken by me posting their link.
If you don't mind me asking - where the heck can you find empty lots these days in Northern Virginia? Seems like everything is already built-up unless you head pretty far away from the city.

thanks! I will contact them tomorrow. As for empty lots, there are a few available in Lorton area, nothing close to the city. Plus i can't afford anything near the city, land alone will kill me.

we had a house built back in 2004. If you have questions, please feel free. It was a one story, 4 bedroom with pool, deck, ect on a cul-de-sac.
