APARTMENTS cost to build - San Diego/Riverside
I have a few lots that I am looking to develop in the next year. 10-14 unit complexes.
Can anyone give me an idea what is the cost to build per square ft. in:
San Diego County
1. National City - VERY low income area
2. Downtown San Diego - middle income area off the 5 freeway.
Riverside County
- within 3 miles of the 91 freeway. middle/low income area
What is my estimated cost to get blueprints/architect design for a low income project?
Can anyone refer me to a contractor in either county?
Thanks !

I don't think whether or not an area is low income has much to do with the cost of construction. Also, an architect is not going to care whether it is a low income project or not...a full working and spec'ed out design takes lots of time either way. (architects charge roughly 3-6% of building cost).
What does matter is the fact that these units will be smaller than more luxurious ones, and that they will be finished with lower quality finishes and fixtures. You can expect a slightly lower price/SF multiplied by overall lower gross SF. Sorry, but I have no exact knowledge of construction in your area to guess a number.Last edited by Luigi2Times; 07-25-2011 at 02:39 AM.
