    I would hire somebody who had experience in renovation for less stress. Just make sure renovation can add value to your home.

    Agree. I have seen tons of houses that have done DIY home renovations that devalued the house OR deterred buyers from even taking a look at the whole house. Personally, I love those houses because there are less buyers which gives me more room for negotiation.
