Advice on refrigerators/appliances
Moving into a new home in about a month and will have to redecorate a kitchen. Will need to get a refrigerator right off the bat. The other stuff can come later. Aside from the obvious choice of Subzero/Wolf, any other good brands out there? I don't know anything about this stuff.
Thanks.

I'm not sure how crazy you want to get....GE Monogram is dependable, affordable and is quality for the $. If you want to go nuts, please advise and sky's the limit from there....
www.universityelectric.com has a number of different brands to check out for reference identified under "Products"
best of luck.

If you are going stainless but not Sub0 or Viking etc, I'd take a look at Electrolux, LG and Samsung.
NSX - 80mm Turbo/built motor
GSX - 571whp 490 wtq - My baby/first car & bought 18+ years ago!

Thanks guys. Not really sure how crazy I want to get at this point. I have to furnish a 4000 sq/foot home, and all I have is 2 couches and a TV from my old condo
So, probably don't want to go sky's the limit on a refrigerator.
I've been very impressed with Samsung TV's of late. Maybe I should give their friges a try.
Anyone else??

LG is making some nice refrigerators. My sister just went with Sub Zero and Viking stuff in her kitchen. Unfortunately, she has had a lot of issues. Maybe just isolated, but for the money spent I would be very disappointed.

And just resist the urge to get one with a glass door. It's a nice idea in theory, but if unless you keep the inside of your fridge spotless...

I have had issues with the SubZero 695. Had to have service come out after only 3 months of owning it because the freezer would not stay cold. It has worked perfectly since the service, but I expected more from a $12k fridge.

Had a Subzero, worked ok, not worth the money IMO. However, the compressor above the fridge is good since it gives you more interior space. Other manufacturers might also be doing the same thing thee days?
We had 6 weeks to find a fridge for the current house during which time we also found a contractor, renovated and moved (long story) so we didn't get a lot of time to do fridge shopping or research but we now have the GE Profile line and it has been an extremely good fridge; the GE Monogram is a step up in looks and price but not much else. We have the 27 cu. ft. slim depth which won't fit under standard fridge cabinets (taller than normal) but gives lots of space without having to go to a wider model which would have required moving walls in our case. Does crushed ice well, really good storage space, good temperature control. Only down side is that the control panel for water / ice seems to be showing wear marks after only a year of use which makes no sense.Loves wine, women and song
