Also never smoke a good cigar too fast as it will ruin the taste and could also give you stomach pains.

Don't light up or consider smoking in anywhere, at any time, where you can't fully enjoy and appreciate the cigar. Public area are ok IF you intend to spend an hour or more enjoying the stick.

Like AMGfan said, you have to consider other people and you want to be comfortable yourself. I don't know of many public, designated smoking areas what will accomidate.

Smoke them only to relax and unwind. They're more enjoyable in the company of friends or fellow afficinado's. Again, this should never be a rush job so unless you have the time, don't light up. More seasoned smokes can tell...trust me.

Learn the "cigars 101" stuff. Lighting, cutting, never butting it out.

Caveat: Trick I learned for cutting the cap and just the cap. Take your cigar cutter, lay if flat on the table, face up and blades open. Take your cigar, place it cap end first between the blades. Now, close the blade to remove the cap. Work like a charm.

    As for health...don't inhale...ever!

Find a good drink to enjoy with your cigar. Some do scotch, burboun or congac; I like coffee or even a ginger-ale. Have fun trying new combo's until you find what tastes good to you. Believe it or not, trying this or even asking other smokers their thoughts, will keep you from looking like you starting smoking 10 minutes ago.

No need to hit the other things you mentioned. You've gotten very good advise already. This is just my $0.02 that will keep you from looking and feeling like a noob, immediately.

    Enjoy...and keep us updated!

unless you can find some of their "new old stock" from before they moved production to china. They where phenomenal before the production quality went downhill with the transfer. supposedly the quality is back on the rise.
