Thanks for the idea man! I'll post some of mine pretty soon. I washed my wine celler, smell seems pretty much gone. But did you leave a sponge soaked in purified water and a empty cigar box for a few days before putting any of full cigar boxes? Thanks.

Once the smell was gone, I just loaded it with boxes. I added beads (2 pounds of hcm 65% beads) and a small dish with distilled water and a couple folded paper towels in it. Left it like that overnight, and it's been pretty solid at 62-65%.
Doesn't really need to be "seasoned" like a traditional humi because the walls obviously can't absorb any moisture.
What unit did you go with? You can talk to Forrest at Custom Wineador™ Creations - Home for Spanish cedar drawers and shelves.

Ah ok perfect thanks! The model I got is the GE wine cooler GWS04, looks pretty nice but for some reason my cooler only goes to a max of 64 degrees,,,, For the beads I actually checked it out and a lot of people recommended (Equisicat Crystals) so I'll try that out, just gotta buy my oust fans now. How well have they been working for you?
