Are you strictly looking for an electric automated humidor? You need 2,000 capacity?

Right on. Depending on the humidor some of the electrical ones can take more maintenance than the "old school" Humis.

I would recommend finding a box, or a large caninent and then getting the humidity strips or even the gel tubs. These bad boys will keep the humidity at a perfect level and all you have to do is swap them out once a month or so until the gel gets down to a certain level.

This is super effective and MUCH cheaper than that system.

I am building a display case out of old work walnut and lining it with Spanish cedar. It will hold about 1,000 cigars and I will use 4 tubs of gel to keep the humidity just right!

I also have been debating converting a portion of my wine cellar into a humi. Not only is it great bc it will regulate humidity like it is its job, but also will regulate temperature and light exposure for an ideal aging environment!

You can also run a wine cooler, have custom shelves made and run either Elec or the Beads.

    Whatever website for the fridge
-Easiest would be making sure to pick up a Thermos-cooling fridge, since compressors use the inside humidity to chill the air (big RH swings).

For the shelves/ Drawers, Heres a good builder from what I could find online. I also ordered from this guy:
    Frigidaire : Chasidor, Online Store

I elected for the electronic route, I leave for months at a time so I went with the Humi-Care XG 1000 Pro
-First thing I did was remove the foam that holds the water (Huge mold contributor)
-Filled with Watersorb water absorbing polymer prices so that water doesn't splash, and it helps reabsorb excess. You can also add 25% Propylene glycol with the water for bacteria control and to slow the humidification.

From what I've seen with a lot of mold and/ or mildew problems are using tap water instead of distilled/ reverse osmosis and not cleaning properly.

Either way its more so up to the climate you live in deciding what you're going to run.

Im also gone for months at a time so I thought a humidor I could just set and it would regualte the levels for me was the best bet...as long as I had someone to poor some distilled water in there for me...and yea those foam sponge things are known for the mold
