Finally got a lead on Padron cigars in my area...

-3000
-3000 Maduro
-Delicias
-Delicias Maduro
They have the 1964 A and Torpedo, so i'm definitely going to try those, but I'm thinking of buying a box "daily" smokes as well...
i'm really looking forward to it!only dead fish swim with the stream

The 1964 series torpedo in maduro or natural is excellent. Haven't had the 1964 series A but I highly doubt it's bad. And it's been a while since I've smoked the 2000, 3000, or the Delicias. But I do have a friend who would smoke daily smoke the 2000 and his tastes are similar to mine so whatever that's worth. Basically you can't go wrong with any Padron!

The 1964 A and torpedo.
I am not a fan of their "regular" series. I tried them all. Grassy, young cigar feel.
The 1926 and 1964 Anniversary are truly outstanding cigars. Most better than Cubans cigars.

thanks! They don't carry that much of the 1926 and 1964 lines, just the A and the torpedo, probably because of the price. The brand isn't that well known around here, so i have to do with what i can get my hands on. I'll just buy two of each to try them out and see from there.

Why not have some shipped in? I would be happy to ship some. My local shop is a big padron account and has pretty much all of them in stock.

true, might try that in the future, but several reasons why i don't do it right now:
- if not sent as a "gift" there's a good chance Belgium customs will either make me pay crazy taxes on them or just "confiscate and destroy" them (read: keep them for their annual summer bbq...)
- I know the owner of the local Casa del Habanos pretty good and I hear horror stories every week about shipments that are in pretty bad shape when they arrive at the customer. Would like to avoid the discussions that come with this...
- Would like to try them out first before purchasing a larger quantity
- the shop in the Netherlands carries some other cigars that i'd like to try but can't get my hands on here, some Liga Privada's, Rocky Patels, Oliva's, Tatuaje's... so it's gonna be well worth the trip

God I hate customs. A bit off topic but Im good friends with the largest KM hookah importer in the US and Ive seen the crates when they come in. Not pretty, almost half of the hookahs are unusable because of severe damage and customs feels the need to slit open half of the hoses because "there could be illegal substances stashed in them". I really dont get the whole huge issue with shipping tobacco products over country boarders but customs seems to have a big issue with it.

too much money involved for governments: here we pay taxes, some more taxes that just have another name, some health taxes and then 21% VAT on the total price... + they probably fine you for "smuggling" as well...
Only way to get around this is having somebody send it from a non-business/private address with a little note with it saying something like "Wassup bro, here's a little surprise for you to enjoy, greets, you good friend X" and fill in the paperwork at the post office saying it is a "gift"... that's not something lots of shops will do i guess.only dead fish swim with the stream
