Default Picked up a Milano 100c Humidor for $30

Cigar monster had these for sale this past week for 30 bucks when Retail is "$125" More like $80 everywhere else... Anyways, does anyone else have one of these cheap things? Do they work ok? I figured just pick it up at that price...

No first hand experience but a good friend of mine, expert humidor builder says that inexpensive desktop humidors are 95% of the time made in China (with cedar like aromatic wood) and tend to turn to an experiment where you have to find ways to fix the flaws. Who knows though, you may have a good product. What matter is to keep a steady RH and keep it inside the box.

Do the paper test for the seal, season the humidor, bring the RH up to the level you want, calibrate the hygrometer and see what happens. If the RH doesn't go above 40-50, trash it and use a different one or beads. If you lose RH, check the seal.

Thanks! I'll try this out and just sell it if I don't get successful results.

after 4-5 days of seasoning with waterpillows from famous, I've only gotten the humidity up to 60%. Cigar shop said to add a small fan... Whats your thoughts? I've been more patient than I thought I could, now I'm ready to start putting some small boxes in!

I never use water pillows. I use a peatree dish filled with distilled water, and let it sit for about 2 weeks. re-do the water then one more week. then add kitty litter, and bam!

    works at 65% every time

Whenever I need to calibrate my humidors I use the Boveda Humidity packs. They have a special 84% humidity pack just for new humidors that you leave in for two weeks. I do this because I do not have to keep checking the water, etc. Your typical cigar shop should have them.

That looks good. I'll order some tonight. If it doesn't work, I'm gonna sell it to someone on my Jeep Forum for like $50 and just drop some cash on a nice 500+ count table for the man cave

It will work, as long as you season it properly.

FAIL. I didn't remove the plastic ring on the hygrometer...
