    I don't see a humidor here. It's a cigar box, but ...

If it is an authentic box (I say authentic because like Saleenfan mentioned, the word "hecho" is misspelled, it was should be "hecho"; it could be an honest mistake though), it would be a pre-embargo Davidoff cigar box. All Davidoff cigars were rolled in Cuba up until the embargo.

It is not worth much by itself; at least money wise (I would say between 25$ and 50$ since they are rare). Now, if the box was full with the original cigars, it could be worth a few hundred dollars, if not more.

The sterling silver is a dye applied on the wood.

Most of the pre-embargo cigars, although at 90% dry, sell at auctions in London every year. People still buy them, not to smoke them but to collect them. I know, it's weird.

    Hope this helps.

    ps: it's Aficionado*

If you look at the second to last pic, the box is clearly marked "David Orgell 925 silver" it's not a wash or paint.

Sent an email to David Orgell in hopes of getting some greater detail. It is definitely heavy. No dye or paint over wood. Its solid silver. Probably close to 3 lbs.

I missed the David Orgell detail which means it is a real silver lining. It also means, although it's very small in size, that it is a "humidor" and not a cigar box. David Orgell did make humidors about 20 years ago. Getting information on this from David Orgell will be not be evident. The whole thing translates to likely get more money for it than the 25-50$ I had quoted.

Well done. Someone must have wanted it badly.

ps: if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

Well, it ended up being almost $2000 worth of silver at yesterdays price plus the premium for the craftsmanship. It was a good deal for the collector as it was definitely one of a kind.

As for how much I paid for it, I brokered it as part of a larger collection.
