    Default Purchasing my 1st Humidor

    Hey Folks,

I'm about to purchase my 1st humidor from the thompsoncigar.com the DUMAINE 60 COUNT HUMIDOR along with the 90 RATED PLUS SAMPLER. I want to ensure I keep my cigars fresh and in the appropriate condition once received. What else do I need so that I can take care of my cigars?

    Appreciate the feedback!

    NO!!!

do not buy from them. Too many bad stories and experiences.

also, read this. this is how to season a humidor.

Whatever size humidor you are looking at it will be too small in a short time. Once you have a place to keep your cigars you'll end up collecting them in a hurry and will run out of space. I went from standard box type humidor to 2 to 5 and finally bought a cabinet humidor that holds about 20 boxes thinking I'd never out grow that. Well that was true for several years but got an Opus X humidor last year that holds about 100 cigars and use it to keep all my special Fuente cigars. At this point I'm set with cigar inventory for several years. Oh yea, I keep a box in a locker at a local shop too.

This is soooo true. I went from a 10 count, to a 25 count, to the amazing carboman 125 count.

Also, what ever you get, make sure you upgrade the humidification device in it. that floral foam stuff sucks. upgrade to kitty litter, or heartfelt beads.

    Ummmm, what else.

Completely agree on the above advice in getting a bigger humidor than you think you'll need. Also, Boveda packs work great.

If you're a nut job like me, you'll go from that 60ct humidor, to something like this
