Default Semi Urgent Cigar Help Needed.

    Greetings gents,

I was supposed to be heading out to visit my girlfriends family of state for the holidays but my travel plans got delayed by about 5 days due to some issues at work. As a result the Davidoff Reserva 12's I bought and was planning to smoke with them are going to have to wait about 5 days. I do not have a humidor and they are currently in the ziploc bag provided by the tobacco shop. Am I endangering the quality of the cigars given this time frame and storage situation? I do not have a humidor, is there a better option or something I can do to make sure they stay fresh? Am I overreacting?

Sorry for the "new guy" question, I have smoke many cigars in my day but typically they have been bought the same day or a day before so storage was never a concern.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Go to any local cigar shop and get a small Boveda pack. Put it in the bag with the cigars are you'll be fine.

    Thanks! I will do that.

For future reference, what is the typical amount of time one can leave cigars in a ziploc before experiencing any ill effects?

Or Fuente sells a heavy duty zip lock style bag with a pack in it as well.

Depending on where you have the ziplock bag, I wouldn't leave them in there for more than 5 days.

they also make boveda bags, which are a ziplock style humidor.

You can also get a water pillow and toss that in with them, and you will be ok.

Thanks for all the helpful info. I sent my assistant out to get a boveda bag or a "humidifier pack" Hopefully one of those will do the trick. Worst case scenario, I got the cigars on Friday so hopefully they will make it until Thursday.

Also depends on where you live. If you live in Calgary you're basically screwed. Your cigars and humidor will dry weekly.
