DR vs Nicaragua vs Cuba- Who makes the better cigars
Post your opinions. Personally, I haven't smoked enough of them to weigh in. If you have a suggestion, I'll gladly listen.

Cubans are my favorite. Plus, it's not a problem getting them in Canada.

My vote is for Nicaragua. Now if you would like some hard evidence, here are some numbers to add to why I feel Nicaragua is the better producer.
If you were to look at the Top 25 cigars of 2009 and consider all the facts to which they base their judging from; Wrapper, Binder, and Filler, Nicaragua is on top of all these categories with the 25 cigars selected in 2009. Here is what I mean.
#1 Cigar of 2007, 2008, and 2009-Nicaraguan. Padron was two of those!
16 of the top 25 cigars in 2009 used Nicaraguan tobacco in their wrapper, binder, or filler. This is compared to 10 using DR and only 3 Cubans.
Factory Locations are a tie with DR and Nicaragua at 8 a piece followed by 6 in Honduras and only 3 in Cuba.
Now just in the Top 10 cigars for 2009 you have 5 from Nicaragua, 3 from DR, and 2 from Cuba.
For 2008 you had #1 and #2 both being Nicaraguan Cigars with another 3 Nic cigars in the top 10 making 5 total for them in 2008. In 2008 DR had a close 4 with a couple Nicaraguan and DR blends and Cuba had 2 for 2008.
So studies have shown that Nicaragua produces some of the best cigars.Jason

it's more about the flavor then where they are from. but to tell you the truth i have noticed that my taste buds always seem to prefer the Nicaraguan cigars.

Ive got a bunch of cubans, and I love them, but I try to pick up the same stick from the same MFR that is imported to the US (using DR or Nic. tobacco). I've yet feel that the same stick made of DR or Nic. tobacco was better. DR and Nicaragua have some awesome cigars though (Padron's probably the top of my list for non cubans). OK the Padrons are better than the cubans IMO but comparing "Chiquita bananas" to "Chiquita bananas"... the cuban sticks are better i feel.
