Always buy a bigger humidor than you think you're going to need. It'll save you money in the long run because you'll be able to buy and store cigars in bulk from websites. You can get a really nice humidor for pretty cheap on ebay or cigarsinternational.com. The one's on ebay are ridiculously good looking and cheap, so it seems too good to be true. If you want to risk it, that's your call.
You don't even need packets; you can use normal distilled water. That works fine.
I smoke about once or twice a week, and I have a 100 count humidor. My first humidor was a 20 count, and needless to say, it was not enough.
This is exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks for the great info!

I ended up just picking up and open box Edgestar wine cooler unit. Threw 2lbs of beads in it, put it to the lowest setting and I'm at around 62 degrees and 65% RH. Working well so far, and looks great. Now I just need to fill it up.

    Looks Great!

One small thing I would change; take the lids off of the containers you have there holding the cigars. If those containers seal well then that makes the RH level inside them totally different. In other words you have a humidor stored inside of a humidor kind of. Just remove the lids and you should be fine.

I actually transferred the cigars into empty boxes. That picture was when I first got it, so I just had the tupperware in there to keep the temp down. They had RH packets in them though. Now that it's all seasoned I have removed all the tupperware and replaced it with empty cedar boxes, now I just need to fill it up with cigars. I'll have to get some updated pictures. Hoping to get some drawers soon as well.

Not exactly sure how many it will hold, I'm thinking around +/- 500.
