Arrow My What I'm smoking today Picture ~ Review/Blog ~

Figured since I take pictures of almost every cigar I smoke, well have atleast started to over this year I would post up daily/weekly/monthly smokes. I'll try to keep the quality of the pictures pretty good as I dabble in photography, however it's not always easy having my camera with me when I'm lighting one up. Also try and give a small review on each one, and if people want I can do a video review as well.

I'll start it out with some past pictures and smokes and update it weekly.

The Cohiba Siglo III: Not only does it have one of the most beautiful wrappers. From first smell it has beautiful cedar and spice notes, and first light it has some very smooth yet tight draw making you want more and more, it gives up some beautiful mild flavor with almost a slight caramel taste. The flavor is apparent all the way through. This Siglo III and the Siglo IV are for sure in my top 5 favorite cigars. Overall ratting 4.7 out of 5

The Olivia V Series: In my personal opinion is the best of the Olivia line. It is a bit oily, but not overwhelming, has a delicious bitter chocolate taste right from first draw and finishes strong with great earthy spices, but with perfectly balanced flavors Overall ratting 4.5 out of 5

Now the other night I was out and didn't have my camera, but did have my phone and wanted to share this great smoke.

Perdomo Robusto 23: Now first thing you notice about this cigar is the earthy smell, I've noticed this about most Perdomo's. They have a beautiful earthy spice, almost with hints of hay. From first draw its very dry, but great light flavors. It has some slight spice to it and continues dry throughout. I personally love this cigar for the price and with a nice light beer you can't go wrong. Overall ratting 4.2 out of 5

Next time, One of my Favorite cigars of all time, the Padron 1964

Nice write ups and pics Steve. The Perdomo Lot 23 is one of my favorites as well, especially for the price. I met Nick and Nick Jr last year at Holts. Great guys for sure. We're going to be running a contest on our cigar review site shortly where we're giving away a Padron 1926, a Fuente Fobidden 13 Keeper of the Flame, and a Fuente Opus X (not sure if it will be a Shark or what yet). Not sure if I can put up the link to the site here since we're not a sponsor, but I'll PM it to you if you want.

Steve, I'll def try to hook you up with an Opus sometime soon. I think I'm down to 2 (one from the Holiday Reserve set, and an Opus Chili Pepper that you can't have )

I also have a few Casa Fuentes. I dunno, I'll get you something good. Let me know if you're planning on being at a C&C in West Chester sometime soon and I'll try to get a couple sticks to you then.

That would be awesome man! let me know I'd be happy to trade you my last Siglo III for one. I will try and be at C&C later this month as the next couple weeks have a lot going on with my Saturdays. Plus the weather hasn't been the greatest. Thanks again man and keep me up to date with the contest.

This weekend I enjoyed one of my favorite cigars. The Padron 1964 Anniversary: now anytime I pull one of these out of my humidor to smoke or bring with me somewhere to enjoy, I always get this little excited feeling. It might just be that feeling of knowing that it's going to be an amazing smoke and I've never had one that's let me down. Or it could be the time I'm going to have to relax and enjoy it, either way it's always a great feeling. From immediate inspection, you notice the beautiful old cuban box pressing and smooth dark Maduro wrapper. The smell gives off a light chocolate and nutty smell almost making you want to bite into it like a candy bar. First light is always a pleasure with any Padron, but the smooth, creamy draw of this cigar is makes it my favorite, it has an amazing Nicaraguan blend which rolls around your mouth and across your taste buds, the light smoke flutters under your nose and gives off even more flavor. The creaminess never ends with this cigar, from start to finish, even smoked well beyond the band it's delightful yet full of flavor. Overall rating: 4.8 out of 5 (pairs best with coffee, dark or porter beer)

As I usually pair mine with a coffee or dark beer, I was at a friends this weekend so some Golden Monkey had to do

Well many of you may have seen the "Cigar Deals" thread, where I posted a deal with 12 assorted Victor Sinclair Cigars a small travel humidor, butane lighter, and double bladed cigar cutter for $20. Like many of you I took advantage of this deal and was greeted with my order before the weekend. So of course I had to light one up this weekend.

I went with the Victor Sinclair 55 series "Red": Now I thought I've had this cigar before, but found out I was mistaken, I've had the VS Legacy and also the 10th Aniversario and both were pretty good. Now I honestly was expecting this cigar to suck, not for any reason other then Thompson cigar trying to move old inventory or smokes that weren't selling. (since thats who the deal was through). First inspection was a good one, tight construction, great light color, smell was faint, I did pick up on some light earthy spices however. First light was a pretty good surprise, a nice dry earthy draw with a slight pepper taste. Nothing too strong, but it was definitely there, as I smoked further some flavors started to unveil themselves. A little more pepper and a almost spicy aftertaste, not unpleasant at all. My main surprise was how evenly it burned and contained itself (as you can see with the pictures) This smoke did however start to get a little too strong towards the end, and best smoked even slower at the last third. Overall I was actually pretty surprised, with the deal not including the humidor, lighter and cutter they came out to about $1.60 a stick. Which I honestly have no complaints about. This won't be a typical sit down relax cigar like I had it, I wanted to make sure I picked up on every flavor for the review. This cigar is best enjoyed outside maybe doing yard work, washing car or even in the pool. My Overall rating 2.8 out of 5 (not amazing, but good, specially for the price)

Up next I'd love to hear a suggestion from you guys? any cigar you've been meaning to try, can't get your hands on or don't want to spend the coin on. Let me know!

I'm sure you're well aware of the Padron event going on this Friday at Holt's. If not, here's your notice!
