Default House of Blues Seating Tickets

My aunt was looking for a bunch of tickets to the Katy Perry show in March in Chicago. I only saw the tickets for general admission which is stand up only and I recall the last time I saw a band at the HOB I had to stand for about 2 hours until One Republic came one. How does one get tickets for the seats that they have by the bar or the booths up there? I really don't want to send my aunt to a show and have her stand the whole time waiting for the opening bands to finish.

Not sure if its the same as it is down here, but you just have to get there early enough to get a table first.

For most shows that is the same deal at the HOB Chicago... As long as you get there early enough you can get a seat @ the bar upstairs. There are a limited number of events that use the upstairs as ViP. I would just call the venue and find out.

I have been to over 30 shows at the Chicago HOB. If the seats do not have reserved signs on them then they are available on a first come basis. I would say her best bet is to get there early and to sit at the bar at the back of the venue. It is only 21 and up which at a Katie Perry show I would assume would be good since there will be lots of young girls there. You also can ask the bartenders if they have extra stools somewhere else and in my experience they always grab me one. The upstairs is not always open but it is 21 and up which means it is usually not as crowded and a good bet if it is open.
