Yeah its got to be the mold for the case. There is no way that that is the actual case...way TOO big.

It is in fact larger, the mindset behind the design was more for people that needs full protection. Think riding a motorcycle and just wanting to throw it in a bag, construction workers, etc. It's not for everybody, but it is for some. I would say majority of people want something small, but there is still a large market for people that don't.
I do have to say, although you guys haven't seen pics yet, it is bulky in comparison to JUST the iPhone, but not really in comparison to an iPhone with a case. I've been using it for 2 weeks now, I'm not really looking for something bulky, but it hasn't really bothered me in any way. It fits in my hand perfectly, and goes in my pocket with no problems. As much as I thought I would complain about the bulkiness, I truly haven't.

Ok it's finally that time. I wish I had the video ready to show you guys the case, as the awe factor is much cooler when you're actually using it. For example if you see the pics, you can see how you can use the flip lid to set the phone down to use it like an alarm clock or watching movies for example...it basically doubles as a stand. Regardless here's the product page (in stock and ready for ordering - don't forget coupon code "l4p4life" gets you 5% off):
Element Case Dark Carbon Edition Liquid iPhone 3G / 3GS Case : Carbon Fiber Gear
Details:
Pics:Element Case brings an innovative and unique design to the world of iPhone cases. Developed by product engineers, the Element Case Liquid iPhone case was made for those interested in full protection for their iPhone while still maintaining function. It was developed for people that want to hop on their motorcycle and just throw their phone in their bag, or the construction worker that doesn't want to worry about damaging their phone.
The case works in a unique way. The iPhone 3G or 3GS installs via silver nickel screws with the included allen key for maximum security. The see-through cover then fits onto the phone through magnets. Since the cover is see-through, you can still see incoming calls and text messages without needing to take it off. All buttons and ports are accessible with the case installed. When you are ready to take it off, simply remove it and slap it onto the back side of the case, where it will also affix itself magnetically.
Use the cover on the back either vertically or horizontally as a holder, perfect for using your iPhone as an alarm clock or watching a movie.
The back of the case features 100% real carbon fiber. The"Carbon Dark" is custom back painted in deep metallic graphite black. The bezel is Satin Black and the screws are Silver Nickel. The flip lid is Orion Grey with "Carbon Edition" laser engraved graphics. This case is bold, dark, and serious.

Holy! Was this thing made for soldiers in the line of fire? Seriously if you're that afraid to use your phone and get it scuffed up... leave it in the box!

No worries, it's set to meet a certain niche. Think snowboarders, skateboarders, motorcycle riders, etc. Although I do have to say it's not as bulky feeling as you'd think
For you guys that want an alternative, consider the monCarbone all carbon fiber case:
monCarbone Carbon Fiber Apple iPhone 3G / 3GS Case : Carbon Fiber Gear

Or the Ion case (which offers full protection as well):
Ion Factory Carbon Fiber and Leather iPhone 3G/3GS Case : Carbon Fiber Gear
