upgrade my A4. what should I throw in it?
Looking to upgrade my system, need a little more bass and plus I think I blew a mid already. Don't mind paying a little for it, looking for something with good quality. I mostly listen to Hip hop/ rap but want a good overall system.
Know anyone in Columbus, Ohio that does work on Audis?

For mids and tweeters I've always had good luck with the Diamond brand.
Not the most expensive in the price spectrum, but definitely some quality stuff.

In a past job I higher end car audio, In some of the A4s I did I put Focal K2s up front with JL coax in the rear with a PDX amp.. sounded phenomenal, with a small 8" or 10" sub in a sealed enclosure it would have been PERFECT!
::edit:: if you can make the trip to the philly area I will get you in touch with a few shops that do unbelievable installs.. are you keeping your factory HU? if so check out the MTX re-q5, cheap and easy and the result is really good sound

If you want good bass but not obnoxious I'd suggest putting 1 12" in the trunk. I'd look into DC Audio, Sundown Audio, Soundstream, FI, etc. Personally I would stay away from over used brands like Kicker. They're okay subs but you can do a lot better. JL Audio is also nice but for the price you can get great subs that do the same job.
If you have a stock head unit I would recommend upgrading that as well.
As for speakers, Infinity, MB Quart, Alpine, Beyma, O2, etc.
If you want everything to sound its best, the speakers and sub should be amped properly. New wires. Etc.

Do you need navigation? Or are you just looking for a basic radio.
There are plenty of factors/options when you're trying to choose a head unit.
Navigation, blue tooth, HD Radio, Satellite radio, aux compatibility, usb, ipod interface, etc.

Probably need to know if you have a BOSE system already in that car.
If you do then replace the blown mid with a replacement of the same bose speaker.
Then add a small powered sub woofer. I recommend a simple Infiniti bass link since the subwoofer, amplifier, and remote bass knob are all included and integrated. You will be able to turn the bass down on you factory head unit, to increase clarity among your interior speakers.
You may then compensate with the subwoofer adding a bit more depth, and midbass to your overall system.2009 AKA Rally Participant
