Noob looking 4 advice on a system
Hey there,
I love HQ audio but I certainly dont know anything about it, so please bear with this noob.
I want an HQ audio system without having to install any huge sub boxes or AMPs etc. So basically just a head unit and speakers with inbuild subwoofers if such things exist. I'm not focused on a big ass hardcore bass but an overall HQ sound.
Whats the best to go 4? What can you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance fellas.

it really depends on the what car you want to install it in, what might work well in an A4 will not work in an rx-7. You will almost definately have to use an external amp to acheive a high sound quality, but depending on the car an amazing set of front speakers can do a lot without a sub.
let me know what kind of car, and I would be happy to suggest a course toward audio bliss!Ross

Hey Petro,
I used Pioneer slim line subs in my GT3RS and they took up little to no space. I think they are 3" in depth and it sounded great. I put a small Pioneer amp also, about 300w, and was very please. I believe that I used Infinity Kappas for my mids and they were great for the money.
Best.

Thanks so far guys!
Well, infact I'm thinking about to hook up more than one car with some proper hardware.
E30 Coupe, RRS, G55, E39 M5 would be the once in question. I didnt think about putting a system into the RS but now that it got mentioned...| Some say_ that he's working on his 3rd million since the first 2 didn't work out.

^+1 on JL, they're stuff is pricey but I have an old pair of 10w0's made 16 years ago that still hit pretty hard (for 10's, in a sealed enclosure). I know your not looking for a big sub, but their stuff is quality.

A good pair of component speakers and an amp will do wonders.
Focal
Rainbow
Morel
Hertz
Image Dynamics
Diamond Audio
All make good component speakers
I personally think that JL is overrated.

You could get away with just adding a new head unit and a sub/amp to your existing stock audio system. It's really all about how well you tune the system. One of the biggest improvements for sound that I made in my DD was adding a sub/amp and an aftermarket head unit.

If you don't want big boxes, have a look at free air subs, putting that in a parcel shelf enclosure and sealing it up well, with coaxial's in the back corners and components up front, get it tuned and should sound alright.
As for brands, ive had good experiences with pioneer headunits (got a lot of features for tuning), if your starting out I would just put one of their top range drive the stock speakers, tune it up and then see If you want to take the next step and upgrade other components, but you will need an amp/s to do that."But what about speed?" "If your important, people will wait"
