Default Upholstery shops.. Where do you go??

Where do you guys go for your custom upholstery work?
I've searched and little to nothing comes up!!.

Im sure you guys must take your rides somewhere to get that bespoke look so where are the best places you have come accross!
(Im shocked there hasn't been a sponsor for this category yet.)

Reason for asking is i am relocating to the USA from the UK and this is my field of work along with high end audio...
Now the big question is which state is best for this kind of work as i have prety much got open options as to where to start my new life in the US...
I have been looking into Las Vegas as its close to family and also an easy step for west coast clients..
My goal is to get into contact with some of the best shops out there so if you have any leads or know of good establishments then i would like to hear about them.

    Any questions please ask..
keep up the good work this is a great forum.

Thanks Mike but apart from a side line in there business it doesn't look like any of them go too in depth on the Upholstery side of things.
I could give examples of the type of work i mean but don't want to put links to vendors that are not part of the community..
For example complete Hot Rod interiors and show cars. One off creative work..
Im sure there are members on here that have had that type of work carried out so was interested in the type of places they had come accross.
As mentioned above its not right to post links to business's not linked to this forum so if anybody could help with my quest please PM me...

You also stated you do high end audio work. My shop caters around High End audio work and upholstery as do some of the other shops that sponsor here. You wont find a shop that only does interiors.

Custom Hot Rod Interiors, Street Rod Interiors, Custom Interiors, Custom Upholstery, Custom Automotive Upholstery, Auto Interiors, Leather, Tweed, Fabric, Carpet

These shops are in no way associated with me and i am not trying to sell there products or services!!! they are purely examples!! Before people get mad for posting Non Sponsors!! (feel free to remove if necessary)

Im just trying to guage the market and potential for this type of work in the USA..

When I first started my business I would outsource the upholstery work. Now the guy I would use works for me in house bc he never would have enough business to keep it afloat.

Its strange how the market changes.. the audio side of things has been slowly dying off in the UK and Europe in the last decade... now almost all audio sales are through internet stack em high sell em low places.. The Upholstery market however couldn't be any busier if it tried.. The same has been said from the custom shops that i have spoken too in the USA with most of them fully booked well into the end of 2011 so i guess it depends on state to state out there..
We get customers with brand new cars here just not liking what the factory fits the cars with so we strip them bare re-design the entire interior and custom make a new interior and audio as well as body mods. Most of these are high end vehicles so not your average joe's cars but there is deffinatly a big enough maket for it.. From a business point of view its been better doing 6 cars like these compared to 100+ normal ones to get the same income.
It might sound crazy that i am walking away from a business like this to move out there but its taken me 12 years to go through the process of immigration. Seems they don't make it easy for the English,if i were Irish i could have coame straight in!!(thats the crazy part)
Anyway.. i just wanted a feel for whats going on out there in general as to if i work for a shop or start up out there myself..
Also being a new guy i didn't want to step on anyone's business as i treat people how i like to be treated and there is enough work out there for everyone.. :-)

Oh I get you 100%. Custom audio and interior jobs I am booked for 2 or 3 months straight right now. I take in small jobs along the way to pay the bills. Problem here is there are soo many shops around your pricing has to be on point. Thats what puts most people out. Around here if a shop beats my price by 5$ they will go there wether or not the quality isnt the same.
