Mazda Sub Advice
Im looking at putting a small descreet sub in my MX5/Miata. Any advice on slime subs or placement? My thought was either behind the seats level with the centre console or perhaps under the seat, never done a sub install in a convertible before so I am looking for something stealthy.

I would recommend a Pioneer shallow 8 in or a Kenwood Excelon sub either behind the passenger seat or fiber glassed under the dash on the passenger side on in the foot well of the passenger side. I have built a few and the 8 sounds fine in a small car like a Miata. If your on the west coast I would be more than happy to help you out with this. Sub will probably run you around 150.00.

When it comes to Audio, A&E is the cream of the crop, hit them up or if you are on the east coast Mobile Addictions is your other choice. Both do amazing work and offer great discounts to 4 members.

Unfortunately im from the UK so no joy for me there unless you have a UK store?! We have a pretty good local audio shop here but I like to do my own stuff if I can! Ill take a look at the suggestions guys. Any examples of the foot well install, does it take up much foot room?!
Cheers!

I did something like this in my MR2 - I wanted clean, punchy bass, something that didn't intrude on the interior space much or weigh a ton (this car weighs 2200 lbs and has 309 rwhp).
I did this install several years ago - the design uses a front & side baffle and uses the floor and firewall of the car as the other baffles. Each enclosure is .3 cubic feet (sealed), perfect for the Boston Acoustics Pro Series 8.4s I chose. I run a big Sony ES XM-2100G in parallel to them, as they are quite power-hungry. I run Boston 5.4s up front with another Sony ES XM-2100G powering those - the amps are on the floor of the rear trunk.
The installation accommodates an AutoPower roll bar (not seen in this photo) and allows the seats to travel fully rearward except for the last 'click' on the sliders. Not the most bass-heavy system I've ever built, but one of the most clean and accurate systems I've ever heard.
