I don't understand the placement of the midrange in the rear door. Is it aesthetic? Seems like it would be too close to the rear seat and even then, perhaps not aimed correctly.

    I'd like to learn more...

The speakers cleared the back seat with room for the sound to disperse properly and wasn't just for aesthetics. When designing car audio it's important to take into consideration human anatomy. Our ears point forward so front stage imaging should be the most prominent whereas rear staging is just fill. Like a movie theatre, sound should always come from the front and the rear should barely be heard. For this reason, aiming the back speakers isn't really a concern. All in all, we got some great sound out of this set up and were not disappointed at all. Hope this clears some things up and gives you the information you were looking for.

That install looks great!! I love having good bass upfront to complete a proper sound stage. I installed some 8" subs in my front doors in sealed enclosures, and I have rarely heard a system sound better, and always with a lot more weight ( I autocross, weight=bad)

Looks great!. I did the same thing with some Dynaudios in the past and just after six months of heavy abuse, the fiberglass started cracking and they came apart. I'll never do that again in a vehicle used for off-road.
