Default Escorts: Redline Vs. 9500IX..Which Is Worth Getting ?

Hey everyone, hope you guys had a great weekend. Anyways been looking into getting a new detector, one i have now is a whistler a cheap $50 one got it for free.

Anyways been looking into a 9500IX while on the site i saw they have this new one the redline. Was looking on some vids that people made comparing the two. From what i've seen its really not much of a difference (besides the looks and what not), in one vid the 9500 picked up signal sooner before the redline.

So whats your guys thoughts ? which should i get ? I got my eyes set on the 9500 always have, but the redline is newer.

    Thanks everyone.

Radar Detector Tests and Reviews by Guys of LIDAR

    A lot of knowledge there

Radar Detector Tests and Reviews by Guys of LIDAR - LASER

No test done on the Redline so I would avoid it at the moment.

Well thats the dilemma. There is always something better around the corner. Valentine1 has been on top of the charts for years now. Each radar has a flaw, as far as I know no radar detector has cured all flaws. What is your budget? 200, 400, 1000? Do you want windshield mount? Hidden install?

Very true there always seems to be one new thing, after another. Well a $1000 for me is an insane amount so the max i wanna spend on the detector is $500 was also gonna think about the V1 but i'm not sure.

I am gonna also look into the harness were i wanna have it up on the top winsheild close to the mirror and have the mirror and have the cord tucked away, well the hidden install like you said. Was looking for a 9500 here in future shop and they are running into $700 Way to much.

Heres the thing with the V1 one, yes you get the long distances, however it doesn't pick up on speed cameras, nore when they are on the side of the road with the gun on a stand ?? That one i'm not sure about.

It seems that the 9500ix just has more features. But more 95% of the time i wont need the speed camera feature soooo as much as i dont need it, it would be nice to have when going to the cities

Just hardwired installed my 9500ix in my car. Considered the V1 but for the added features with the Escort like speed/redlight cameras, omitting false alarms, auto city/highway based on speed. I have already been hit with a $125 red light fine in the city I live and they are planning a big expansion of these cameras in my area.

I came down to this thinking. Driving in a rally = Valentine. Driving back and forth to work = Escort.

Well if you have to worry about RLC, definitely get a unit that is upgradeable. No sense in having one that doesn't when new cameras are put up daily. I should reword my previous question. What do you need the unit to do?

Radar? Laser? Red Light? Traffic Camera? GPS hot spots?
