Default Sharpie Lexus's 21" Subwoofer Build

So those that dont know... I will be building and installing a 21" Subwoofer in my Sharpie Lexus - subwoofer was custom designed and using technologies from the Aurasound 18" Subwoofer, we will be building a 21"

Here i will post the design and build steps along the way.

I removed all the interior panels of the back and trunk to make some measurements for the subwoofer to start the design

Drew out a template on a sheet of flexible plastic and dremeled the corners to fit nicely:

Test fitting the 21" Subwoofer (note this is only frame only - acutal sub being made)

Dynamat and Dynaliner will be arriving this week for me to retuck all the wires and dynamat the whole car.

Today, i picked up some 3/4" Multi-ply birch wood to use as the base in creating the enclosure.

The enclosure will be the whole trunk, so sound will sound best when the trunk is closed.

Picked these up at Southern Lumber in San Jose

    Aint cheap!

Needed 1" Thick, but that had to be special ordered...

The multi-ply birch was very smooth and solid with very little imperfections: exactly what i am looking for to prevent any rattles or future possibilities of splitting.

Some of the stuff that will be going inside the car:

    Nuforce Designed Class D Amplifer
    MMATS Amplifier
    Monolithic Pre-Amp

And that bottom one's the custom Nuforce Prototype mobile Media center that I'm designing, more details later.

I'll continue to update this page when i continue to build.

Are you still going to have room for the hydrogen system? (I still think you need to put an Alien or the alien in Independence Day, in the bottle!!!)

21"? Whats the point in this? Just a one off to prove it can be done?

Seriously are you chasing the elusive "brown note"?
