Thread: Tesla Roadster with Alcantara Suede and Mercedes Leather Interior

This Tesla Roadster was completely customized by Al & Eds Autosound in West Hollywood,Ca

When Dr. Taras told us that he was getting a new Tesla Roadster and was not satisfied with the interior and audio options we were excited at the opportunity so express our creativity within the Tesla community.

Problem number #1 the factory rubber (get scratched by just looking at them) door sills. We immediately recognized this problem and had molds made so we can recreate them in carbon fiber.

Problem #2 although Tesla offer a wide range of interior leather colors and options Al & Eds Autosound took the interior to a whole new level! We used Mercedes Benz leather, Alcantara suede and extra thick stitching throughout.

The dash had the factory 4″ speakers removed and holes were filled. We then reupholstered the dash using part leather and part suede. Stitching separates the two sections.

The doors did not have speakers in them so we remolded the doors to fit Focal 165KRX2 component speakers and tweeters. We then reupholstered the doors using leather for the complete outer area and suede with diamond stitching for the inserts.

The seats were also reupholstered with the same materials and theme.

The rear deack also have bulging rear speakers that were removed, holes filled and reupholstered in suede with the diamond pattern.

Audiophile Upgrade: Kenwood 7″ motorized flip out media controller that offers the following features all controlled from the 7″ touch screen display:



AM/FM radio

XM or Sirius radio

Optional HD radio

iPod and iPod video playback

USB thumb drive audio input

Garmin based navigation

Bluetooth hands-free phone interface

Rear view back up camera

3-band parametric equalizer

Plays DVD, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3/WMA/AAC files on disc

Focal hand made component 6.5″ and tweeter speakers were custom installed in the doors.

For bass a 10″ subwoofer in a custom fiberglass enclosure is installed in the passenger footwell area. Minimal legroom is compromised.

Alpine PDX series 600 watt amplifier powers the system. A 153 band EQ processor is installed for accurate tuning and time alignment of each speaker. A Dedicated subwoofer control knob allows independent bass control.

System is powered by an independent 12 volt recyclable battery & interfaced with a 110 volt inverter. Charging is required.
