Web Ready
The PASSPORT 9500ix is the first radar and laser detector that can be easily updated using your computer and the power of the internet. Simply connect your detector to your computer, log on to our website, and download the most up to date locations. You can even back up your data or update the detector's operating software, (firmware), if needed. The database is updated weekly, and Escort provides three months of downloadable updates for free. Database Subscriptions are also available to keep you up to date on future Speed Traps, Red Light Cameras and Speed Cameras.

Variable Speed Sensitivity - On Demand Performance
Our patented GPS technology allows us to make your driving experience free from distractions and less complicated. For example, both models use GPS to vary X and K-band sensitivity based on your vehicle's speed. This allows the detector to provide alerts based on what the vehicle is actually doing. At highway speeds you need to best long range sensitivity you can get. At slower speeds, the sensitivity can be adjusted to further reduce unneeded alerts, especially when you're not at risk. We've even changed the actual alert to a short double-tone when your vehicle is moving less than 20 mph.

Simple and Intuitive Controls
All of products are pre-set and ready to go. However, each of them can be set up for your specific type of driving and personal preference. AutoVolume

Can you tell me why and whats the difference, I will be buying one soon so just want to know your input please.

Nothing hanging in the mirror. Everything is mounted under the dash, and in the front and rear grilles. The only thing you see inside the car is this little display witch I have in my instrument area, and the little remote on the side of the center console right by my right hand. I can take a pic of the inside of my car tomorrow if you'd like, and you can see the actual install.

Has anyone used this after a V-1? If so what are your opinions?

Gotta give this system a thumbs up! I've installed a few of these already...get the ci. Unless you need to move the radar from car to car.

The CI is the install I posted a bit ago in the Mercedes CL, we also have pics from multiple Porsche and M series installs.

I have the V-1 in my other car. I have the V-1 turned off half the time, all the falses get to me after awhile. In my opinion the Passport is superior in most every way.

The arrows on the V-1 are nice, but that's about it.

Sounds like a great system, just doesnt work for me since I drive many different cars, not just 1

I agree with the false alarm but the range on this one is not as good as the v1....
