Recommend a few things.
Accidentally put a thread in another area, hoping you guys can be of assistance.
Looking for a double din nav/dvd head unit for my daily driver 05' crew cab silverado. Would like a bluetooth interface for my BB bold, ipod, all that jazz.
Also looking for an aftermarket alarm with remote start. A buddy of mine has one with a remote that gives him the inside cab temp so he knows when he needs to fire it up to cool things off. Would like the other things, glass break sensor, etc.
Thanks guys.

check out the kenwood line up of tv's has all those features and then some. theres pretty much a deck for every budget. kenwoodusa.com
as far as the alarm take a look at the viper 5901. that pretty much handles all the features your looking at in an alarm. just a few thoughts check them out and see what you think!

Autowerks,
Happy Belated Birthday! I LOVE my Alpine IVA multimedia and Coy has the Kenwood KVT but we are both having issues with our Bluetooth receivers (Mine BT300, his is BT200) wondered if you might have any ideas or advices they are probably due to "User Error" I posted under off topic/bluetooth but will repost correctly if needed!

Allyson, where in NC are you? Pellican/Crystal? I'm in N-B.
Thanks AW, I'm doing some research and will hit you up when it comes time.
I couldn't leave well enough alone and started looking deeper, now I see 10" touch screen monitors glassed into the dash... and yeah, all downhill from here.

Hello Anon! Nice to meet another local member! I am in Newport Ridge area close to the new NC Community Center. Pelican Hills and Crystal Cove are just down from us on Newport Coast drive. My husband is an "Audiophile" (loves McIntosh) and we have everything covered in layers of "DynaMat" and "Monster" wired! I have had Blauplunt, Kenwood, Eclipse, Alpine and also recommend Kenwood or Alpine...I loved my Eclipse but if you set the antitheft "Key CD" be sure to keep it handy in the garage (keeping in the car would defeat the purpose). If you ever lock your self out of it (power is interrupted/battery is disconnected more than three times without inserting the key CD) it is a "royal" pain to contact Eclipse (in Torrence) and have then reset it...even with all reciepts, documentation and verification.

The top three manufacturers for these type of products would be Alpine, Kenwood or Pioneer. Al & Eds Autosound is an authorized dealer for all of them plus many other companies. My favorite right now would be the new Kenwood DNX-7140 however everyone has their favorite also. I would love to help you make a decision that provides you everything that you want. I can also explain and compare all the units for you. Please call me directly at 310.920.5454 for assistance. It would be my pleasure plus you would receive a special discount for being part of the L4P family.

Allyson, Thanks for the info. I'm not that into it but if i'm upgrading I prefer to get something I really like. Definitely considering giving the truck a fully wrap in sound deadener, even a new diesel is still a little loud at times.
A-E... Thanks for the offer. I have a few things i'd like to run past the experienced members. After some research I would REALLY like to have an 8-10" touchscreen molded into the dash. BUT, I have a list of wants that i'm not positive can be reasonably accomplished.
Basically I don't want the headache, slow boot up, etc of a true car-puter. All said and done i'd love to have something like a standard F90BT working gear that was hidden somewhere and projected to a larger screen. As well, i'd like to have functioning analog controls, buttons for FF/RW etc and a true volume knob. As well as a bluetooth setup to interface with my BB.
Does such a "box" even exist? A lilliput type monitor would be easy enough to mount and there are options for the other widgets.
Thanks guys.

Unfortunately I am not aware of a proper and non problematic way of providing you such an interface. My recommendation would be to choose a radio that offers you everything that you want and that you are comfortable with the user interface,. Unfortunately the largest screen that you will find that will offer you this would be a 7".
