Just Launched Military Base Advisor.com, Check it out!
I thought I would give the dot com world a shot. I would like to introduce to you a website that I have been working on now for quite some time. I strongly believe that this website has the ability of becoming one of, if not the biggest Military Community websites out there. I have showed a few of my fellow service members what I have been working on and they are amazed at what I have come up with. Please take a look and let me know what you think. If you have any friends or family members serving in the U.S Military please pass along our links and show your support by liking our Facebook page.

L4P Administrators,
It would be nice if you could post our link to your Facebook Page. I know quite a few service members follow your page and the L4P lifestyle.

My brother (Marine - Harrier Pilot) developed freemilitarylistings.com
It's a craigslist for active and retired military only. Due to the fact that many of you guys move so frequently, it's a great place to buy, sell, and trade quickly with other service men and women.
Maybe you can cross promote your site with his. JasonJohnny California

jcalifornia - Thanks for the info. I'll look into it.
secure - Thanks, Please pass the word!
mrmikey32- What base are you located on? I would appreciate it if you could pass along a good word for us.
c6vette - Thanks, as far as promoting I'm going to start hard here on my base in Japan. Hopefully word of mouth then a bit of local advertising (Base Newspapers,Flyers ect.). I know Facebook can only get you so far but I'll try there also. If you have any recomendations I'd like to hear them. And for content well it's up to the members. I don't expect this to be an overnight sensation, but in time with our member Reviews and Classified Ads postings the content will be there.
I've been lucky enough to partner with Trip Advisor so it helps legitimize our site. Now it is just gathering the members and traffic.Visualization is the key to success....Set your sights high.....Aim for the moon and if you miss at least you'll be amongst the stars.

only reccomendation I can think of would be military newsletters and magazines. When I was in the marines everybody read the marine corps times and Im sure other branches have their equilivelent. maybe take out a cheap small ad in a couple of those and see what response you get?

Nice site! Here are some things you should look into:
1) URL Rewrites -- I don't have experience with Joomla! but I'm sure with the right setting you can have this done for you (i.e. Base listings for Alabama should be something like... .com/base/united-states/alabama and not .com/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=8& Itemid=0). It's not pretty, and Google as well as other search engines aren't fond of it.
2) The logo on the top left should be clickable and direct you to the homepage.
3) Implement a sitemap.
4) Using GoDaddy as a host is a no no.

Thats a good idea with the URL rewrites. I have been wondering why google has not been recognizing all my URL's. good info for any site owner.
