plus ten to what he said. I hate it when the logo does not redirect you to the home part of the page.
make the url's easy to remember.
always make it easy to click on links from a mobile phone by thumb. It helps when I use my tablet.

c6vette - That’s exactly what I was thinking too go with the "Times" newspapers each service does have thier own. I'm looking into that. Please pass this site along to any of your Marine Corps buddies if you still keep in touch and thank you for your service.

    1) URL Rewrites -- I don't have experience with Joomla! but I'm sure with the right setting you can have this done for you (i.e. Base listings for Alabama should be something like... .com/base/united-states/alabama and not .com/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=8& Itemid=0). It's not pretty, and Google as well as other search engines aren't fond of it.
    2) The logo on the top left should be clickable and direct you to the homepage.
    3) Implement a sitemap.
    4) Using GoDaddy as a host is a no no.

Looks good bud, keep at it.
JasonV - I agree with you 100% the urls need to be cleaned up to be more seo friendly and it is on my list of things to do headed to our programmers. Joomla offers many extensions and seo friendly urls is on the top of my list along with the sitemap. I thought about the logo redirect but there is a home button just under the logo so not sure if it was worth the time. I'll see how difficult it would be to adjust that. One question though why is hosting on Go Daddy a no no? Thanks for your inputs please pass this site along to any friends or family members if you think they could use it.

handym3000 - Thanks for the input. I frequently test the site on my Iphone with no problems. Please pass this site along to anyone you think could use it.

I manage domains through them, but not hosting (I did in the past). It's not very good. You'll find that the more content you and others upload to the site, and the larger your database becomes, the laggier the site becomes. You can already see a sort of loading lag issue. Speed is a big deal, and loading your site from an open window takes too long. See if you can find a host that specializes in Joomla hosting.
