Thread: Why is ACH so slow?

I regularly get payments from a company that won't do wire - they only do ACH.
Sometimes it's 2 days... sometimes it takes over a week for me to receive the money.
Why is ACH so freakin' slow???

that's odd. it should be next day at most. ach runs daily except on weekends. it's about 5 cents per transaction which is a lot cheaper. chances are, someone pushing the money is asleep if you don't get it within a day or two.

Wire is direct between accounts, while ACH processing puts the transfer in a queue with all debit card transactions.

I'm gonna go out in a limb and say they're not uploading their file when they tell you they are. You're getting lied to.

Yeah, probably just delay on their part - at least I jsut received it today. Goodbye cashflow stress. ha
