Default Software Engineers, I Need Help!

I'm currently outlining a plan to begin building a web application. It's intended to be a small (very small) tool to help Search Engine Marketing professionals leverage their data to make better-informed decisions. I have minimal experience using Python, so I'm planning on using that as my language of choice. In all reality, I could accomplish what I need using Javascript, but I'm taking this route to further my own education.

My question is, do I need to use something like Google AppEngine for something that I'm not expecting to get much traffic/use? I've hosted Python Apps on my own MediaTemple account before, but it doesn't seem like using CGI is a best practice anymore. It appears more Python devs are using WSGI, but I've found no documentation on how to integrate WSGI with Media Temple.

Can anyone provide guidance on whether or not AppEngine is the way to go, and if its not needed, school me on integrating WSGI on a standard Apache web server?

Answered my own question to this one. For those that may be interested in the future, Media Temple only supports mod_wsgi with their dedicated virtual package. That said, I'm going to use AppEngine and use their localized dev server for testing prior to upload to Google's production environment.
