Thread: My Business

Hello from across the pond!

I would like to introduce my business to you guys, I'm based in the North West of England. Originally I started the business in Lancaster but I've now moved into an office in Windermere.

Initially I started up as an IT support company but then realised cashflow would be much easier if businesses paid me to stop their IT going wrong, rather than paying me to fix it when it breaks. They also have the benefit of a more reliable IT system.

We also sell PCs, laptops, network hardware, software, etc, and install wireless networks.


I started the business with nothing and a year later I haven't made any money personally but now everything we need is bought and paid for (with the exception of the van which is financed).

However on the plus side we've worked with nearly 40 local businesses and helped them with their IT, and we're now just starting some targeting marketing (as opposed to just word of mouth, which it has been up until now).

My goals over the next 6 months are:

- Continue to market directly to target customers (emailshot and follow up call)
- Continue to promote fully managed IT for £49 per PC.
- Continue to put proper systems in place for when I employ more staff.

This forum is one of the things that helps me keep really motivated when it's been a tough week, and it's great to see like minded people who are focused on earning money sharing their stories with each other. I'm only 20 years old so I have a lot ahead of me and a lot to learn but love every day of it.

So many times over the past year I've been tempted to give up and go back to working for someone, but now it's going somewhere I'm really glad I stuck it out.
