For better or worse, I'm still putting money in the market. The good news for me is, at this rate, in a few weeks I will own everything.

I honestly think most of this is due to consumer/investor fear. The media hypes everything up like crazy and everyone's afraid of doing anything. People stop buying cars, stop buying toys, stop buying electronics, this causes businesses to downsize, laying off employee's, people start foreclosing on their homes etc... vicious cycle. I, for one, am not "sitting on the sidelines". I'm looking for property, looking at buying some toys etc. I figure if the crap really hits the fan and we have some massive hyperinflation, my saved money won't be worth anything anyways.

I see a lot more downside...things are much worse than in '02, and the Nasdaq still has 40% to go to get back down there.

I agree, but for someone like me who would buy and hold for a while cause I'm young it doesn't matter, once the stuff rebounds, I'm making money anyways.

It's not going to rebound until people realize that you can't "fix" an economy with policies.

nikkei down 10%, russia down 14% in the first 30 minutes of trading and then they suspended trading til Fri... (today) could be rather ugly.
