Default How to Sell... STOP SELLING...

I am 29 and I've owned my own business for 6 years now. I am constantly asked... What's the secret to your success?

I've seen a lot of people posting about sales, sales jobs, sales numbers, etc lately.

If you want to be a great salesman... STOP SELLING.

It's not about the product, it's not about the price, it's about the trust.

I walk into a potential clients office with one goal in mind... Build a relationship.

Walk in, be professional, find common ground, have fun, and don't talk about business until they do.

Take at least an hour or two to build a relationship with a potential client. Only the final 30 minutes should be spent talking about business.

Those two hours where I make $0 are in actuality the most profitable hours of the entire deal.

Once you've built a level of trust and a friendship, they will buy anything from you at any price.

    Enjoy your riches...

I partially agree but if you want to get deeper a sale is made during every conversation if you know it or not, if its buying into an idea or selling a point of view.. once you have been in sales for a while and are good at it.. you cant stop lol. How many times have you done a take away or sharp ended close with a girl in a bar?

I agree, once you understand it and become good at it, even the most mundane things become much more fun.

The take away... if you take away the power of the *ussy, act like you couldn't care less, all of a sudden they want to throw it at you... Check mate...

As far as the inspiration on this site... I think now, more than ever, it is needed in the business forum. From a business standpoint, and life in general, I'd rather be inspired to excel as opposed to begrudged and bankrupt.

He even deleted his post it looks like.

Ever delt with a salesmen who isnt very good once you are good? its actually entertaining..sometimes you appreciate sometimes you get more annoyed

And no check mate because if you accept the power of the pssy and turn it around on them it becomes your own power, learn it study it (yes thats the fun part), and use it. The more powerful it is the more fun it is when its actually yours.

    Bummer I missed it.

I find that in order to sell, one must know their product. Too many people want to go out and sell what they know nothing about. As soon as you learn all about your product, you become a consultant to that product more than a seller and can then find success.
