Resume "Objective" Question
On my resume I have typically fill out an objective for the position I am applying for. I am getting ready to send in a general resume and I am not sure what I should put as an objective. It is a resume for the same company I currently work for.

There's a growing school of thought that stating an "objective" is meaningless. It probably does have applicability if you're throwing your resume into the void of an online submission. But if you're at a level where there's a recruiter (corporate or 3rd party) involved and/or your resume is being sent directly to the hiring person/team, then they'll know based on your experience level and your cover letter whether you're right for consideration or not.

Your objective is plain and simple, to get a job, make more money, take over the world.
Drop "objective" and replace with "highlights" bullet pointing notable highlights of your career. The prior will never generate interest in the reader or capture their attention long enough to read your resume, while the latter has a glimmer of hope to do so.

General resumes always end up in the garbage or bottom of the pile for me. You need to target, and yes you should target your objective to the job only if its meaningful. If you're just coming up with generic objectives then don't bother. Yo should absolutely target your cover letter for the job you're looking to get. ..or if you're really good, create your own job in the company.
