Default Anyone had any cheeky customers ?

This one tops mine so far. She bought a book called "Surviving your teaching practice"

as you can see from the front cover, this book suggests both primary and secondary (ages 4-11 and 11-16 for you US folks) practices. The amazond detail page even featured the "Look inside" feature!

    Heres the email I got:

On receipt of this item I have noticed the contents aren't applicable. The text refers to secondary PGCE and not Primary PGCE. The front cover implies that the book covers children in the primary classroom but this is not the case. If possible I would like to return the item and get a refund so I can buy a book which is more appropriate. Whilst I understand this is not your fault, it isn't mine either I was mislead by cover and summary sheet - as a new mature student I can ill affford to be buying multiple books.
I can confirm the book is in the same excellent condition as it was received.

I look forward to hearing from you with regards to this matter
Now amazons return policy states I have to refund her the £15 she bought it for and send her £2.80 to post it back to me. However, because she has now read the book, it is no longer worth £15, its worth £0.01 according to a similar listing. Plus i have to pay the original £2.80 postage and amazon fees which were £1.50. So shes trying to suggest that because she didnt do her due dilligance on the book she purchased, im supposed to be £22.09 out of pocket?????

Shes a mature student on a PGCE which means she gets £10k from the government in grants!!!! Thats supposed to cover all of this but most of them spend it on a downpayment for a mortage, a car, or simply alcohol.

I really cannot believe the cheek can you!?

I would not return the money ... she claimed it is her fault.

She acknowledges it's not his fault, yet still believes it's not hers either...

I wouldn't return the money. Especially if there was a "look inside" feature. She should thoroughly look at what she's buying if money is so tight before she makes any hasty decisions. There is nothing wrong with the product itself, this is soley lack of attention on her fault, so you shouldn't pay for her mistakes. Tell her to sell it on Ebay or something.

Don't return the money. Maker her file a claim and do all that. People are stupid plain and simple and never think anything is their fault.....

It's a whole separate matter when the book has been read already.

Who is going to take the blame if she is a bad educator? The parents for putting their kids under her care? The principal for hiring her? Oh gee.

I purposely left it blank for this very reason, I deal with returns on an individual basis, because theres alot of people out there who buy new books, read them, tear a few pages then try for a refund because its "damaged". She has blatently read the book, why else would she stress its condition ?

Not had any issues with this way of dealing with customers and I have 100% feedback so its all good

I basically told her to politely get lost, and havent heard from her since!
