Thread: Corporate Attorney Needed

Hey guys,

I have decided to help fund a Medical Marijuana Co-Op and dispensary in CO. Currently trying to help them with the documents needed to set up either a partnership or an LLC. Also, will need help drafting and navigating a partnership/operating agreement.

Having experience with Legal medical marijuana law and the process that needs to be followed to successfully set up an operation would be ideal.

I am not looking for a handout, I am willing to pay what ever needs to be paid for quality work and to ensure we have a tight ship set up. There will be 4 investors, one being my self (approximately 40% ownership). The remaining 3 investors will be the active day to day managers of the business and will own 30%, 15% and 15% respectively.

I am extremely knowledgeable on the investment side but need a lot of guidance and schooling legal on the legal complexities. I am hoping at least one member is an attorney and has experience in these matters.

I'm not an attorney, but I'm a 2L in law school, got an A in contracts, and very familiar with parternship agreements. I'd be happy to help you with it, if you want to PM me your number, I'll call you and we can chat about what you need specified.

I agree that you should definitely consult with an attorney that is specialized or has experience with such law. If you are unable to find one, then I can suggest a friend of mine that helped me set up a few corps.

Just off the bat, I would suggest a limited partnership and a fully-worked out contract that would get you out of harms way if brought into legal action.

I'm an attorney but have no experience in the med marijuana business. I suggest contacting NORML if nobody bites on here. I'm sure they are the organization that can point you in the rt direction.
