School me in apps.
Hello fellow 4players, I was hoping on getting some insight on the process of outsourcing an app, so any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering which was better, finding an app development company online and go from there, or hire someone from freelance.com. I understand that depending on how much you're willing to spend on developing the app, also depends on the quality of the developer but which would be best in terms of quality and cost? Are there any reputable companies or developers some of you have worked with that you recommend? Any precautions I should be aware of or any signs that may raise a flag that show the developer is not dependable? Again, thanks for any and all advice you can share with me, I hope to learn a lot.

Get a broken down 1980 Honda = $600 .. get a brand new Ferrari $200k+ . Good luck.
In all seriousness, the people on freelancer/scriptlance/etc. are not experts. If they were, they could easily make significantly more $ per hour. If you think you are going to compete with the hundreds of thousands of apps in the app store and succeed, either learn to do it yourself or plan to fork over more than $600. Otherwise, you are simply wasting your time.If you need any help with web design let me know!

Thanks for all your input guys, and yes I understand the saying "you get what you pay for". I know it's not going to run me 1-2K to develop the app, but hopefully it won't be past 15K. I've just contacted a company to develop the app and are now in the discussion of things. I still need to speak with the developing team to get a good quote so wish me luck!
