Starting a non profit
Has anyone here started a non profit? I am thinking about starting one to raise funds for pediatric cancer research in honor of my niece who recently passed away, she was 6 years old.
I along with other family members have raised over $40K through Team in Training and other events and I would like to do something on a permanent basis.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be really appreciated.

I've set up multiple and sit on a few boards.
Here in Canada the difference between a registered Non Profit and getting Charitable Status adds on a significant amount of work, not always needed.

Well, good timing for this to be posted. I'm in the same boat. Might be sending out a few pms.

You can also make a pretty penny through non-profit, and not a lot of people know that. I'm very sorry to hear about your niece, and I also wish you the best of luck with the org.
Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better.
