How/what do you sell your ideas?
I've been thinking of a lot of ideas for new designs for an established object ( like a new design for a watch) and sometimes comepletely new ideas that I have Not seen or heard about. Since my ideas range from one type of market to another, there is no way I could produce all these ideas. I'd rather try selling my ideas to companies that only focus in that particular area. So are there any websites that are creditable or procedure to do this?
Ciao,
Jon

I'm not discounting your ideas at all, they may be brilliant, but the unfortunate reality is that ideas aren't worth $hit. An idea is just that, a thought, nothing more. It might be a great thought, but it still requires an incredible amount of work, time, and money to bring an idea to fruition.
The value in an idea is the business model, the sweat equity, the market share, and a million other components that go into actually creating a business around an idea. This is the reason very few serious investors will ever sign NDA's prior to hearing a business idea.
You are better off making a list of your best ideas and deciding which one you want to focus on and develop.2010 Yamaha R1

^took the words out of my mouth.
The phrase "Ideas are worthless, execution is everything." didn't come out of nowhere. Try to find the idea you believe in the most and try to make it a reality. It's not enough to succeed.
Others must fail.

^^ I agree with Adrenaline981 and Vix'd is exactly right.
Ideas are the most useless pieces of non existent shit.

Thanks for all your help. My main idea I have I'm already going after. I just didn't know if the other ideas that pop into my mind could have any value.
I fully understand what it takes to make an idea become reality; just sad that the truth is ideas aren't worth anything by themselves.Ciao,

So the idea for your business was a useless piece of shit? Tell that to thomas edison, or any modern-day entrepreneur who changed the world. Tell them how shitty their ideas were, lol. I'd like to know how that conversation would end.

Stance, I think you completely misunderstood my statement. I'm referring to ideas being useless unless executed properly. I'm not referring to the quality of the idea. Watch this..Okay I just got an idea, oh great i got another one...now I got another one...annd, wait for it, there's another idea. I mean, am I a genius if I say "I have this great idea. A tube u stand in, and then you're suddenly across the world." Now, unless I build it and it works, then you can call me a genius, but as it stands, It's a useless idea. The wright brothers built it and called it an airplane and it worked. Should I say "Hey that was my idea!" Who cares if you had that same idea, you didn't do anything with it.
Unless you do something with those ideas they don't mean anything.Last edited by Porsche996GT2; 09-15-2011 at 07:30 PM.
