When you get rich then its both clever and usefull to use credit cards as apposed to debit cards.
I would use one just for the protection you get that you dont with debit.Trying to go from active to passive income in 2013...

^^ this is true and as I start launching my site later this year, it will require some travelling so a credit card may be a requirement. Delta was not happy that I tried to pay cash for a ticket. They told me they usually have a policy about not doing that for certain reasons. I will however say, I hardly touch a debit card either. I do most of my dealings with a credit union and use cash in most public places and never buy online if it doesn't accept paypal. Yeah; the more I see it now, a credit card is in my future.
Nice hearing about the rewards on this thread. Thanks!

Are the Palladium benefits with United Airlines increasing by chance? I have a United and Chase partnership card, but I have seen that Chase is giving a lot of the benefits to other cards.

i've had one for about a year....concierge is pretty good. Card is great because it really doesnt show wear at all (regular scratches from swipes, but thats all)...numbers/name are laser engraved so they are as sharp as day 1.
it does get aggravating because it is so heavy so everyone that touches it is like "OOOOOOOOOOOO", and typically its teenagers or twentysomethings without tact and they say "what does it take to get this" or "you must make/spend a lot" etc etc etc....funny i dont notice the weight at all anymore.
it is fun to drop also, if you really want to be an attention wh*re....it sounds louder than you would expect, almost like dropping a metal plate.
BTW, i only fly united/continental when I can due to nearest hub so that is the benefit for me with chases' partnership (along with all my business and personal accounts with them)....I cancelled amex a few years ago when they started doing the personal financial review BS (they never requested anything from me) and it was aggravating not being accepted at all places. Ironically I accept amex at my business and pay their ridiculous fees...ohh well.

Funny story I thought I would share. I was at a bday party downtown Chicago, thought we were staying at a pals loft all night, the group decided to head out to a bar. Line was around the block, I was wearing gym shoes. Mind you I am with 8 people. Guys says, sorry no sneakers and I am not getting in. I called the concierge service at JP and told them the story. They called me back within five minutes and told me to walk to the front of the line show them my card and ask for (so and so) I did, guy came out asked me how many people were with me and all of us walked in and got a table. I have to admit I sort of felt like a bad ass...

How can Chase's, or Amex's, concierge services have pull like that? Awesome little story.
