- Get Real You Idiot -
That's the message I get this from this casual but pertinent talk. It's refreshing.
This is David Heinemeier Hansson's talk at Startup School back in '08. I always like to watch or go over some of his points in this when I find my mind wandering about big ideas.
I really think staying grounded and realistic is tough for alot of 'entrepreneural' type people. They are dreamers and that's great. Especially when it comes to the web.
A healthy dose of reality is very key to staying grounded (myself included!). Great talk.
Keep at it L4Pers!
He has decent taste in cars too, 1 off Pagani Zonda HH.

He's straight forward and direct for sure. He does what he wants to do. Have you read his books?

Awesome picture. Someday, someday.

So, I was just about to say I had no idea he had any books. Popped on Google and looked it up... It's Rework! Amazing!

Too funny, just picked it up randomly a week or 2 ago... Gotta' finish Vaynerchuck's first which I'm enjoying for what it is. Also reading 4 Hour Work Week, which I feel is a bit fluffy.
Man, that makes me way more excited to get to it. I literally randomly picked it up at my university bookstore, flipped through it, and bought it when grabbing a few textbooks.
Kicking myself for not going into computer science or business in school but I'm very much a self taught type person with a mind for business. So I'm going to see what I can get out of his Getting Real book as well, we'll see if it's over my head. Hopefully my diverse interests and coursework will pay off in the end. It's definitely turned me into a bit of a pedant and a good researcher.Last edited by lifeoftheparty.; 03-06-2011 at 02:57 AM.

Ashamed to admit this is the first time i've heard of rework... looks like i've got another book to add to my 'to read' pile.
Thanks!
